Anti-Money laundering and countering financing of Terrorism Act ("AML/CFT" Act)
Along with many other countries, New Zealand has put in placeAML/CFT laws, aimed at stopping money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The AML/CFT laws require lawyers, banks, accountants and others to collect and independently verify information about client identity, before carrying out a transaction for the client.
Overseas Investment Act Requirements
The Overseas Investment Amendment Act 2018 came into force on 22 October 2018. This Act prohibits people who do not meet the necessary criteria from purchasing property in New Zealand without government consent. Please contact us to discuss your situation and whether you will need to obtain consent to purchase in New Zealand. Terms of Engagement
Our Terms of engagement and any amendments will apply to any current engagement and also to any future engagement (whether or not we send you another copy of these terms), except to the extent that we agree otherwise in writing. There is no need for you to sign these Terms in order to accept them; you will accept these Terms by commencing or continuing to instruct us to carry out legal services. We may amend these Terms from time to time.
